This world class stadium boasts a Makrolon® polycarbonate transparent roof over its entire stand.

Bay Arena is rated by experts as one of the most attractive football grounds in Germany. To cover the latest sections of the newly renovated stand, the architects chose clear, transparent, solid Makrolon® UV2 sheet, in a thickness of 10 to 12mm, with a weather resistant long-life coating on both sides. The stands on the other three sides of the pitch were renovated between 1986 and 1988 and were already covered with light transmitting Makrolon® Multiwall sheet. This application has proved highly successful and the long-life coating, which is applied by co-extrusion, gives the sheet excellent resistance to weathering and ageing, so the stadium can continue to inspire sports fans for decades to come.
